Tournaments
Tournaments at the Wanderer's Reprieve occur weekly so long as bodies are willing and are held in a best of format with the winner of the first two bouts advancing to the final round. Our fight ring is fitted with both shielding and dampeners (aetheric, kinetic, and sonic) to ensure no fatalities as well as the safety and comfort of the audience. There is however also a first aid station for fighters to make use of at the end of the night or between matches should minor injuries occur and we usually have a healer on hand just in case.SignupsSignups open early via our discord one or two days prior to a Tournament. We will also take day of signups to fill remaining slots and in case a fighter is unable to attend for any reason to act as a reserve. In the case of excess sign ups we will slot people into roles as needed in the order they signed up.Should we fall short in terms of fighters our rather well trained staff will step in to back fill as alternates with the exception of the Proprietor who acts as referee and announcer.FormatEach fight is held in a tournament format. Meaning each fight consists of 3 or more rounds (exchanges) with the first to 3 points or whomever holds the lead at the 20 minute mark moving forward to the next round. In the event of a tie on points a sudden death roll will be made with the winner taking the round. There is also a time limit of 5 minutes on posts and no stalling. So if a competitor exceeds time they will first be warned, a second occurrence may result in forfeiture of the match (however we reserve the right to make reasonable exceptions based on circumstances). Likewise if we are unable to reach a combatant within 5 minutes of the planned start of a bought we may replace them.Fight RoundsAt the start of a match both competitors will roll for initiative to determine turn order. Then the winner will go first with the defender including both their defense and following attack in their reply (all posts made in /shout). With each post an attack/defense roll will be made to determine the outcome. Landing your attack scores a point and then the process repeats using the already established turn order. If a competitor rolls over 900 it is considered a critical success (be it for attack or defense) and the following round they will be allowed to roll twice taking the higher of the two rolls to reflect an exceptional attack or counter throwing the opponent off guard.Grand PrizeThe competitor who wins any of our tournaments shall be awarded a prize of 125k.
